In an ongoing match between the Auckland Aces and the Central Stags at Nelson, Auckland Aces batsman Colin Munro wreaked havoc on day one of the four day match as he amassed a personal best score of 281. Munro dedicated terms the moment he walked in with his team in a spot of bother at 64/2. The 28 year-old belted the bowlers to all parts of the park as he raced his way to a 30-ball 50 and then got to his century off just 68 balls.
The batsman further up the ante as he reached his double ton in just 133 deliveries. Needless to say that Munro smothered the bowling beyond recognition as he hit 17 fours and blasted 23 sixes, which is now the new World record in first-class Cricket.
As a result of his efforts, he shared a 157 run stand for the third wicket and a mammoth 214 run stand for the fourth wicket.
Auckland are now in a commanding position and will resume their innings at 471-5 on Day 2.
